Why I picked it:

I was looking to simplify my life in 2017. The book’s tag line got me “embracing SIMPLICITY, celebrating JOY.” I needed both!

In a nutshell, what’s it about:

It gives practical advice to stop pursuing perfection in all the areas of your life. The book is segmented into 3 parts:

1) Grace with Yourself

2) Grace with your people

3) Grace in your calling

Benefits of reading it:

It’s easy to read, has beautiful pictures and places to jot down notes. Really makes you take an inventory of the things that are a priority in your life.

Favorite chapter:

Chapter 11 “Define the Life You Want To Have”. This chapter really got me thinking. Author encourages us to sit down and write the things we love to spend our days doing. She calls the reader to look for a common theme among the things they love.

Favorite quotes:

“Our physical space has an enormous impact on our happiness. The things we fill our home with can either distract us or inspire us.”

“I will hold myself to a standard of Grace not perfection.”

“Instead of molding your life around your job, choose or create a job that supports and accentuates the life you want to have.”

Final Thoughts:

Excellent book! Learned a lot about simplifying life and redefining success. Greatest takeaway, design the life I want for myself and family. Don’t pursue what others do but build around one’s passions.
